Nexus EOL dates now listed on Google support site

Last year Google started providing monthly security updates to its Nexus devices. Now Google has added End Of Life (EOL) dates on the Google support website.

Most of us already know that security updates are provided for 3 years from release or 18 months from when it leaves the Google Store. The OS updates are provided for two years and having the actual EOL dates on the support site is really helpful to those who are curious about the cut-off date.

The Nexus 5X and 6P, the latest devices from Google as of writing this post, will get updates until September 2017. The Nexus 9 and Nexus 6 will get updates until October 2016 while the Nexus 5, 7 and 10 already reached EOL with dates of October 2015, July 2015 and November 2014 respectively.

One device that isn’t listed is the Nexus 4, but we can safely assume that it is long past EOL.
