Apple has another problem in their hands, as YouTuber EverythingApplePro discovered a video that can freeze and eventually crash an iOS device.
Playing the video clip shown in the YouTube video will eventually slow down the iPhone until the device locks up completely. The only way out of this is to force reboot the device.
Some people have suggested that this has something to do with the video being corrupt, causing the iPhone to lock up after a few seconds of playing the vid. Although it doesn’t happen immediately, it starts to become noticeable after navigating around a few apps.
This seems to work on every iOS version possible from iOS 5 to iOS 10. While we don’t have any older devices for our testing, we can confirm this is happening with the YouTuber’s tests.
Hopefully Apple will fix this problem very soon, although it’s unclear whether devices that do not support iOS 10 will get the fix. A similar problem happened last year involving a text message.
While we will not include the direct link to the video here, the video may be found by searching around.
