Amazon is set to launch an all new kind of store next year called Amazon Go.
The store uses “Just Walk Out Technology” to use an app on your phone to pay for items as you walk out of the store. This eliminates the need for checkouts and even staff.
It uses the same technology found in self-driving cars, that is computer vision, sensor vision and deep learning. The technology detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. After leaving the store, Amazon will charge your account and send a receipt.
The store is located in 2131 7th Ave, Seattle, WA and is currently only available to Amazon employees. The store is set to launch to the general public in early 2017.
