Microsoft announces the Xbox One X

Microsoft has officially announced the Xbox One X at today’s E3 press conference.

The console was previously known as Project Scorpio when the technical details were revealed last year. The One X will be able to deliver 4K games at native 4K, compared to the PS4 Pro’s upscaled 4K.

The console features a custom AMD 8 core CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz, and 12 GB of GDDR5 memory. The GPU will run at 6 teraflops and the memory bandwidth will be 326 GB/sec.

A console this powerful would need serious cooling, so Microsoft has implemented a water cooling system on the One X console. It will also have a 1 TB hard drive.

Like the One S, it will support 4K blu rays as well. The HDMI output will be version 2.0b and will have AMD FreeSync.

The console will be available in November with a price tag of $499.
