Nintendo shutting down Miiverse on November 7

Nintendo has officially announced today that they will be shutting down the Miiverse service for both 3DS and Wii U systems on November 7th 2017, 10pm Pacific time. Nintendo says that this is due to the rise of social media networks, like Facebook and Twitter.

Games that use Miiverse will also stop working, such as Super Mario Maker, Splatoon and Mario Kart 8. You can see the list of affected games here.

However you will be able to download your Miiverse posts after the service ends. To do this go to miiverse.nintendo.net and request post history. Additionally, Wii U chat will also stop working.

Have you ever used Miiverse on your Wii U/3DS system? Let us know in the comments.
