Nokia is set to make a comeback as the company formalises a licensing agreement with HMD Global to bring Nokia branded phones running the Android operating system.

The company also launched a new section of its site today, available at http://www.nokia.com/en_int/phones. This marks the return of Nokia branded smartphones and tablets after Microsoft acquired its phone business and killed off the brand in favour of its Lumia brand for smartphones.

Nokia has launched Android based devices before, with the Nokia X, a budget Android phone with Microsoft services, and the Nokia N1, an iPad like tablet.
